Right Phone Numbers Speed
Up Outage Reporting
Spring is just around the corner. However,
there is still time for winter storms to occur. When storms do strike, whether
they are snow/sleet/ice or severe thunderstorm/
hurricanes, etc., and cause power
outages, it helps to be prepared.
One way to help us help you is to be sure we
have your present telephone number for your service location. Our outage
reporting system identifies the telephone number from which the person calls who
is reporting an outage. If it recognizes the number it records the outage and
the caller simply hangs up. If it doesn’t recognize the number, the caller is
asked to stay on the line and follow the automated steps to leave a voice
message. Halifax EMC personnel must go through the messages which may cause a
delay in locating the outage.
You may give/check your number when you come
in the office or send it to us through the "Tell Us" section of the newsletter.
If you have signed up for "Online Bill Pay,"
you can give us your number online. To do so, simply
-
Login to
www.halifaxemc.com.
-
Click on "Account Services."
-
In the drop down menu, click on "Billing
and Online Pay."
-
Then click on "Customer Login."
-
Once your account page comes up, click on
"Account Information."
-
And then, click on "Account Profile."
-
Type in or edit your telephone information
-
Then click submit.
Let’s all be prepared for whatever the future brings, so when a major outage
does happen we are ready to handle it.
