Hot Weather
Equates to High Electric Bills
In recent weeks we have
been experiencing some of the hottest weather ever with temperatures
in triple digits. When this happens the first thing we want to do is
to turn our air conditioning down. The result is high summer
electric bills.
Instead of reaching for
the thermostat,
-
Set your thermostat
on 78 degrees. For every degree you can raise your thermostat
you can save 3% on your energy bills.
-
Cut on your ceiling
fancs or use oscillating fans to help move the air around your
house. Fans use less energy than air conditioners.
-
Close your blinds or
drapes on the sunny side of the house to help keep the heat out.
These are just a few tips
to help keep your energy bills down. Remember, you are the one who
controls your energy usage. The more you turn your thermostat down,
the higher your energy usage will be and the more you will have to
pay.
