Halifax EMC Board Appoints New Director to Fulfill Unexpired Term

The Halifax EMC Board of Directors appointed Frederick M. Dunn, Jr. to fulfill the
unexpired term of deceased director Morell Jones, Jr., who represented District 1.

Dunn is the owner and operator of Dunn Farms and has been a member of the cooperative since 1996. He holds an Associate Degree in Wildlife and Forestry Management from Wayne Community College.

Dunn serves as the President of TriCounty Peanut Cooperative, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for FCSWCD — an elected position in Halifax County, and belongs to the Whitaker’s Chapel Preservation Committee. He has also previously served on the Halifax EMC Credentials and Election Committee for 19 years.

“I am honored by the appointment as Morell Jones, Jr. was a lifelong friend and mentor and played an integral part in developing my interest in the cooperative,” said Dunn. Besides his own service to the cooperative, Dunn is also a relative to Balfour Dunn, one of the nine original incorporators and board members.
