Local Teacher Honored as Bright Ideas Tar Heel Teacher of the Week

Congratulations to local teacher Tenesha Lee of Hollister Elementary! Halifax EMC is proud to honor Ms. Lee as a “Bright Ideas Tar Heel Teacher of the Week” in recognition of her outstanding work in the classroom and as a Bright Ideas education grant winner.

The Bright Ideas Tar Heel Teacher of the Week program recognizes 25 of the most exceptional teachers from across the state during the 2019–2020 school year, and is sponsored by Halifax EMC and North Carolina’s electric cooperatives.

As a Bright Ideas Tar Heel Teacher of the Week, Ms. Lee and her winning Bright Ideas proposal, “Hands-on, Safety, Science Oh My,” as well as Hollister Elementary, were recognized during the February 1 radio broadcast of the UNC men’s basketball game against Boston College.

Ms. Lee and her fellow Teacher of the Week honorees will also be invited to attend a UNC football game in Chapel Hill during the 2020 season.
