Sylvan Heights Bird Park unveiled its first electric vehicle (EV) charging station during National Drive Electric Week
in September!
The park installed a single ChargePoint Level 2 CT 4000 commercial charging station. The CT 4000 has dual ports and can fully charge most vehicles in less than four hours—the perfect amount of time to take in all that Sylvan Heights has to offer.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held by the community including park staff members and Scotland Neck town officials, along with representatives from Halifax EMC, Edgecombe-Martin County EMC, and North Carolina’s Electric Cooperatives.
This project was made possible by a partnership with the state of North Carolina. Funding was provided through the North Carolina Volkswagen Settlement. Additional support was provided by Halifax EMC, Edgecombe-Martin County EMC, Roanoke EC, and Tideland EMC via NC’s Electric Cooperatives’ matching grant program. Lake Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Foundation also awarded Sylvan Heights an EV grant.
